VILDR started as an idea and a question: can we build a professional digital marketplace for hunting and fishing that connects landowners with outdoor enthusiasts — without the six-figure budget and 18-month timeline a traditional development agency would quote?

The answer was yes. In six months, VILDR went from a concept to a fully operational marketplace with real landowners, real bookings and a commercial model that worked from day one.

Current status

VILDR is live and operated by its own in-house development team. When the company was ready to scale with dedicated technical resources, I transitioned out of active development — handing over full documentation, clean architecture and everything built. I remain on the board as an equity holder. The product continues to grow.

Start

The question: "Can this be built?"

The VILDR founders had domain knowledge in outdoor recreation and a clear market problem. No technical background, no development budget beyond their own conviction. Anders answered the feasibility question and agreed to build on pure equity.

Months 1–2

Architecture and design

Product architecture defined, UX designed, technology stack chosen. Every decision made with the commercial model and eventual scale in mind — not just what shipped first.

Months 3–5

Build and iterate

Core marketplace functionality built — listings, search, booking, payments, contracts, dashboards. First real landowners onboarded during development to validate the flows.

Month 6

Live and operational

VILDR launched publicly with a fully operational platform. Real bookings, real payments, real landowners and guests from day one.

Post-launch

Transition to in-house team

When VILDR was ready to build its own development team and scale the product in-house, Anders transitioned out professionally — full code documentation, clean architecture handover, everything intact. Clean, professional, all parties satisfied.

Board member and equity holder

Anders remains on the VILDR board as an equity holder. The product continues to grow and develop under its own team. The original bet paid off for everyone.
